Idaho Falls Post 56

Welcome to the American Legion Post 56, our goal is to continue our long legacy of service to our communities and to our fellow veterans.  We gladly invite all vets to join our ranks, Marine, Sailor, Soldier and Airman, please come out and share your talents and experience where they are needed, you are valuable.

We serve our vets and our communities by operating various programs including;

• Graveside honors for all Veterans
• American Legion Baseball
• American Legion Girls and Boys State
• The Frank Dalton Food Drive for our Idaho Veterans Homes
• School Flag Programs
• American Legion Riders
• Champs Heart
• U.S. flag retirements
• Veterans plaques
• The Warbonnet rodeo
• Visits to schools and the communities to promote Veterans and Veterans Day
• Conducting Memorial Day Services
• Hosting celebrations during the Christmas Season for all Veterans and their families

The list goes on and on and demonstrates how we serve Veterans, their families, and community as a whole.  You can see by our list that we are very busy and have lots of people doing different tasks that they love and enjoy.  We would very much like you to join us and relive the camaraderie and fellowship that you enjoyed while serving in our nation's military. 

We are paticullarly vested in, and value, our WWII and Korean war veterans.  If this includes you, please reach out to us, Post 56 will cover the cost of your American Legion membership.

Post 56 meets the first and third Monday's each month at 7:00pm in the Veterans Memorial Building located at 485 Constitution Way in downtown Idaho Falls.  Please consider coming to one of our meetings to see if you might enjoy being a part of our great organization.  There is absolutely no pressure to join.  You can do as much or as little as you have time for, but please consider being part of us.  We need new members to keep our programs growing and strong.  Please contact any of our post leaders for more information on becoming a member of post 56.  Please select post information from the main menu, then post officers, to find our contact information.
